The atmosphere in Dortmund was fenomenal, only a bit dampened by Leverkusen winning 3-2. We had seats in the middle of dortmundfans, so we too had hide our joy over Leverkusen's victory.”

The incredible run continued into the next season, as Napoli’s failed European Cup fueled a second-place finish in the Serie A, which earned the club a spot in the UEFA Cup for the following season. The club beat bigger clubs like Bayern Munich, VFB Stuttgart, and Juventus. The Maradona-led team beat Stuttgart over both legs of the UEFA Cup final to lift Napoli’s first European trophy.
Three years after the first Scudetto, Napoli won the league title again in 1990, but with more strange instances. The club was involved in an on-pitch scandal, leading to a two-point deduction. However, this did not hurt Napoli’s title run, as Milan lost against Hellas Verona to crown the Partenopei champions for the second time in the club’s history.
Torino is historically a better team than Napoli. The club dominated Italian football between the 1920s and 1940s, winning seven league titles, including five straight. That team that won so much is widely regarded in Italian football as one of the greatest teams to come out of Italy. Sadly, this run came to an end after the Superga air disaster that killed the entire team. Despite this, Torino won its fifth Coppa Italia title in the 1992/93 season, just one year after reaching the UEFA Cup final.
