The atmosphere in Dortmund was fenomenal, only a bit dampened by Leverkusen winning 3-2. We had seats in the middle of dortmundfans, so we too had hide our joy over Leverkusen's victory.”

Liverpool reached even greater heights under Paisley. From 1976 to 1983, Liverpool claimed six league titles, three European Cups, and multiple domestic trophies. Paisley’s Liverpool side became one of the most formidable teams in Europe, with iconic players like Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, and Ian Rush contributing to an era of unprecedented success. The Reds dominated the English league and on the European stage, winning the European Cup three times in five years.
Following Paisley’s retirement, Joe Fagan took over and continued Liverpool’s winning ways. In 1984, Fagan’s Liverpool became the first English club to secure a treble, winning the league, the League Cup, and the European Cup. However, the tragic events at Heysel Stadium in 1985 led to a ban on English clubs in European competitions. This ban impacted Liverpool’s continental presence, but the club remained competitive domestically.
Liverpool’s resurgence in Europe began in the 2000s. The club won the 2005 Champions League in a thrilling comeback against AC Milan, a game that remains one of the most memorable finals in the competition’s history. Liverpool clawed back from 3-0 down at halftime to win on penalties, adding a fifth European title to their collection.
In recent years, the club has achieved further milestones under Jurgen Klopp. In 2019, Liverpool claimed their sixth European title, defeating Tottenham in the Champions League final. In 2020, the Reds secured their first league title in 30 years, finishing 18 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
West Ham United is known for its robust East London roots and a passionate fan base. The Hammers made their first big mark on the national stage by winning the FA Cup in 1964, a title they won again in 1975 and 1980. Their 1980 victory was particularly historic, as they were the last team outside the top tier to win the FA Cup, defeating Arsenal 1-0 with a goal from Trevor Brooking.
