The club’s golden era stretched through the 1960s and 1900s, during which it enjoyed both domestic and international success. Independiente won three league titles alongside several other trophies to establish itself as one of the strongest teams in the country. Perhaps the club’s most memorable run came in the Copa Libertadores between 1972 and 1975, where it won four consecutive titles.
This string of wins remains an unmatched feat in the competition to this day. The club achieved these incredible things with the likes of Ricardo Bochini, who later went on to become a club legend.
