The atmosphere in Dortmund was fenomenal, only a bit dampened by Leverkusen winning 3-2. We had seats in the middle of dortmundfans, so we too had hide our joy over Leverkusen's victory.”

Players like Frank Ribery, Arjen Robben, David Alaba, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Manuel Neuer were critical to that era. They overpowered Borussia Dortmund in an all-German Champions League final.
From there, Bayern’s grip on German football tightened, with Bundesliga titles practically a foregone conclusion. Season after season, the Bavarians signed quality players to maintain that complete dominance over other teams in the country. They won 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles between 2013 and 2023, becoming the first club to achieve this feat.
Bayern Munich made history again in the 2019/20 season after winning another treble. It was a defining moment for the club, as Hansi Flick recorded the highest win rate of any manager in Bayern’s history. The German manager led the club to a hat-trick of major trophies, including the UEFA Champions League, which they won by beating PSG 1-0 in the final, thanks to Kingsley Coman’s goal.
Last season’s trophyless campaign should only be a minor setback for a club of Bayern’s stature. Instead, Bayer Leverkusen pulled off an unbeaten run to win the Bundesliga title ahead of Bayern Munich. Xabi Alonso’s men also won the DFB-Pokal, only missing out on the UEFA Europa League after losing to Atalanta, which was the only game the club lost throughout the campaign.
