The atmosphere in Dortmund was fenomenal, only a bit dampened by Leverkusen winning 3-2. We had seats in the middle of dortmundfans, so we too had hide our joy over Leverkusen's victory.”

The Bavarians later settled for Vincent Kompany, whose Burnley team had just been relegated to the Championship, raising a few eyebrows. However, the former Manchester City captain has proved to be a valuable addition to the club, as Bayern has outscored most European teams this season. The Bavarians sit comfortably at the summit of the Bundesliga table with a four-point gap over the second-placed team.
