The Toffees have only missed top-flight action four times, with the most recent one coming in the 1953/54 season when the club spent two consecutive seasons in the second division.
The club has not experienced any good times in recent years. As a matter of fact, the fans are getting accustomed to always being in the relegation battle, as the club has done in the past four seasons. Despite all the money the club has spent since 2016, when Farhad Moshiri bought the club, it has not translated into on-pitch success.
The club has also gone through some quality coaches, including Rafael Benitez and Carlo Ancelotti, both considered two of the best football managers in history. However, it’s been going from one problem to another.
The Toffees are now looking for stability under Sean Dyche, who was appointed Frank Lampard's permanent replacement in the 2022/23 season.
Like Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers have also enjoyed some success in English football. The club has won the top-flight title three times, second division titles four times, four FA Cup titles, two League Cup titles, four FA Community Shield titles, and runners-up in the UEFA Cup in the 1971/72 season.
