Apart from being one of the most successful clubs in Italy, AC Milan’s success transcends domestic boundaries. The Rossoneri have won the UEFA Champions League seven times, with only Real Madrid boasting more UCL titles than Milan. The Milan club has won the famous European competition twice since the turn of 2000, lifting the title in the 2002/03 season before getting its hands on it again in the 2006/07, beating Liverpool in a rematch of the 2005 final.
Lazio may not be as successful as its Milan counterpart in terms of trophies, but the Eagles are one of the most famous traditional clubs in the country. Lazio has won the league title twice, seven Coppa Italia titles, one UEFA Super Cup, and one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, proof that the Roman club is capable of challenging on the biggest stages.
